The band's manager at the time - Mrs P A Lee (yes - Brian's Mum) wanted to send examples of the band's songs to venues to assist in getting gigs - and also to send to record producers to help in possibly getting a recording contract. So Brian's parents agreed to finance the production of the albums if the band themselves produced the actual recordings.
